HOW CMM INSPECTION WORKS

A coordinate measuring machine (CMM) uses a precision probe to capture defined points across an alloy wheel. The system converts each probe contact into X, Y and Z coordinate data for dimensional review.

We establish a reference position before measurement begins. This reference keeps the inspection program aligned with the selected wheel design and engineering drawing.

We place the wheel securely on the measurement table and confirm its orientation. Our operator selects the correct inspection program, establishes the reference and checks the probe path before the measurement cycle starts.

Coordinate data supports a direct comparison between the inspected wheel and its engineering drawing. Our operator reviews the generated report and checks the listed dimensions against the applicable product requirement.

We route each nonconforming result through correction and additional inspection before the wheel moves to the next stage. This decision path connects dimensional verification with the rest of our quality-control process.
