KIPARDO QUALITY CONTROL
13° Impact Test
for Alloy Wheels
We use the 13° impact test to evaluate how an alloy wheel responds when the rim receives a concentrated load during durability validation, helping prevent brittle fracture under sudden impact.
IMPACT RESISTANCE CHECK
Impact Test Preparation
The 13° impact test simulates the sudden impact experienced when a wheel strikes road hazards such as potholes or curbs. A concentrated load is applied to the rim flange at a specified angle, after which the wheel is inspected for cracks, severe deformation, and tire-pressure loss to evaluate its impact resistance, structural integrity, and safety under real-world driving conditions.

Wheel and Fixture Setup
The fixture holds the wheel securely, maintains the 13° orientation and aligns the target rim area beneath the impact system. Our operator confirms the mounting position before the cycle begins.

Controlled Test Operation
Our operator closes the safety enclosure and starts the programmed cycle. The machine releases a specified striker from the prescribed height to impact the rim flange. The applicable test procedure defines the striker mass and drop height.
WHAT WE EVALUATE
We inspect the wheel after the impact
We examine the affected rim area for visible cracks, deformation, and other structural changes. We record the wheel condition and review the result against the requirement for that program.
