Testing repeated cornering loads

The wheel industry commonly calls this method a cornering fatigue test. Many technical documents also use the terms bending moment fatigue test and rotary bending fatigue test. We mount the wheel on the test fixture and apply a repeated bending moment through the mounting area to reproduce the cyclic stress associated with cornering loads.

We secure the wheel on the fixture, connect the loading arm through the mounting area and verify its alignment. This setup transfers the programmed bending moment through the wheel center during the fatigue sequence.

The applicable test procedure defines the bending moment and target cycle count. Our operator confirms the setup, starts the programmed sequence and monitors repeated loading. We record the completed cycles for the quality review.

What we evaluate

Durability under cornering stress

We apply the confirmed load and cycle sequence through the wheel mounting area to reproduce repeated cornering stress. After the sequence, we inspect the wheel, review the test record and compare the result with the applicable product requirement.
